Good or Evil??
Today has been a very interesting day to say the least. Not only is March Madness going on and to say the least my bracket is falling apart. But thats beside the point, for all who don’t know today is Good Friday. This is the day that Jesus was crucified on the cross. Which means that in 2 days is Easter. Now with all the random moments out of the way lets get down to what this is really about.
Its about Minorities and America. Today is March 21 2008. Ive been alive since 1992 and already i have noticed that America attempts to do too much to help minorities. With organizations like the NAACP and BET (Black Entertainment Tonight) and now groups are springing up in schools.
A new group has sprung up in my high school called Common Ground. This is a group were gays and other minorities get together. But has America really gotten to that point? Where we allow minorities to be able to have a group were they just hang out with each other? Do they really need one? Sorry for all the questions but I’m making a point. If say i was to start a group for all straight people. Red flags would be thrown up everywhere. I ask you. Why? Its because we’re living in a world where we do way too much for minorities. Think about it. Lets say i came to school wearing an Anti-Minority shirt. I would most likely be told to change because it is inappropriate .(Neglecting my Freedom in Speech.) But if some kid came in with a pro-minority shirt he would not even be talked to by authority. Is this fair? For either side may i ask? The founding fathers found this country on the morals that every American not be judged no matter what they were or supported. This may seem like I’m contradicting my self but I’m making my point. Now i agree that Gays,Blacks,Foreigners all deserve the same rights(As long as they’re legal.) as me. But they don’t deserve extra rights. Which is exactly what they are getting in todays Liberal America
